Why must I be saved?
The Bible presents a clear path to eternal life. First, we must recognize that we have sinned against God: "For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God" (Romans 3:23). We have all done things that are displeasing to God, which makes us deserving of punishment. Since all our sins are ultimately against an eternal God, only an eternal punishment is sufficient. "The wages of sin is death, but the gift d is eternal life through Jesus Christ Our Lord" (Romans 6:23).
What is the answer?
If you want to accept Jesus Christ as your Savior, here is a sample prayer. Remember, saying this prayer or any other prayer will not save you. It is only trusting in Christ that can save you from sin. This prayer is simply a way to express to God your faith in Him for providing for you salvation. "God, I know that I have sinned against you and deserve punishment. But Jesus Christ took the punishment that I deserve through faith in Him I could be forgiven. I place my trust in You for salvation. Thank You for Your wonderful grace and forgiveness - the gift of eternal life! Amen!"
The purpose of baptism is a public declaration of one's faith in Christ and identification with Him. Often baptism has been relegated to something that is done later. Yet to Peter or any of the first-century Christians, the idea that a person would confess Christ as his Savior and not be baptized as soon as possible would have been unheard of. Therefore, it is not surprising that Peter would see baptism as almost synonymous with salvation. Yet Peter makes it clear this verse that it ritual itself that saves, but the fact that we are united with Christ in His resurrection through faith, "the pledge of a good conscience toward God through the resurrection of Jesus Christ" (1 Peter 3:21).
Christian education department (Sunday School). Children's Christian training and education are of paramount importance by the Ministry of Blue Ridge Independent Church.
Every Sunday morning classes for children focus on the importance of basic Christian values and the love of God.
"Honoring your father and mother", "the golden rule" and kindness to other first, are a few among many focal points in the Sunday school program.
We use the approved curriculum from the Union Gospel Press, which includes tremendous children themes for their respective age groups.
Approved teachers donate their time and talent to team up with parents to "train up a child in the way that they should go." (Proverbs 22:6)
Our children are not just to be entertained and given a snack but, trained to become this churches future and impact the next generation with God's love and hope!
